How do I make text bold on WhatsApp?
Put an asterisk on both sides of the text, like *hello*. WhatsApp shows it in bold once you send it. This tool adds the symbols for you: select the text and tap B.
How do I write in italic or strikethrough on WhatsApp?
Use underscores for italic, like _hello_, and tildes for strikethrough, like ~hello~. Strikethrough is popular for showing an old price next to a new one.
Does WhatsApp support lists and quotes?
Yes. Start a line with a dash and a space for a bulleted list, a number and a full stop for a numbered list, or a greater-than sign and a space for a quote.
Why isn't my formatting working?
The symbol has to touch the text with no space in between, so *hello* works but * hello * doesn't. The formatting also only appears after the message is sent, not while you're typing it.
Does formatting work in WhatsApp Business API template messages?
